The Emerald Scars

In the emerald fields of 1847 Ireland a blight descends forcing families into a desperate struggle for survival. Niamh and Tomas O'Malley children of County Mayo find their world irrevocably shattered by the Great Hunger. Across the sea in the burgeoning cities of America another fight begins. James O'Reilly from County Cavan steps onto foreign shores seeking a new life only to confront prejudice and violence in a land that promises freedom but often delivers hardship.
